Pangasinan PESO Welcomes Guest and Jobseekers on Labor Day and Pista’y Dayat Job Festival

The Pangasinan PESO simultaneously organized a Labor Day Job Fair for hopeful jobseekers and welcomed guests from the Benchmarking Activity of the Public Employment Service Division of Nueva Vizcaya last May 1, 2023 at the Pangasinan PESO, Capitol Complex, Lingayen.

The job placement activity titled as Pangasinan Job Festival: “Kasanayan at Trabaho Handog ng Kapitolyo” successfully catered a total of 435 aspiring applicants where 87 of them were Hired-on-the-spot or immediately secured a job offer from a company.

The Pangasinan Job Festival: “Kasanayan at Trabaho Handog ng Kapitolyo” is a special event organized in celebration of the two of the most celebrated events in the province, the Pista’y Dayat and the Labor Day, which is both being celebrated on the 1st day of May every year. The Pista’y Dayat is being celebrated as a thanksgiving festival for the bountiful blessings of the sea. While, the Labor Day is a national holiday in commemoration of the achievements of the labor movements and recognition of the immense importance of laborers and the working class in the economic stability and development of the country.

The Job Festival aims to provide employment opportunities to our provincemates by bringing the jobseekers and employers together in one venue for immediate matching. Since the event will be conducted on a holiday, this provides our provincemates a great opportunity to apply for their desired occupations.

Offering more from the regularly conducted Job Fairs of the office, the Pangasinan PESO will also be conducting a 1-day Basic Nail Care Skills Training to 50 pre- registered interested applicants. At the end of the training, each participant will receive a certificate and nail care toolkits which they can use for self-employment.

The Job Festival will also include a Government One-Stop Shop Services where applicants may avail of government services or assistance. Participating agencies are Government Service Insurance System (GSIS), Social Security System (SSS), Philhealth, Pag-ibig, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).

To truly embody the spirit of a festival, the Pangasinan PESO also invited exhibitors to attend the Job Festival. Participating exhibitors include Aldritz Corp., Bernal Bagoong, Blissm Corp., Bounty Fresh, Ever Bilena Cosmetics, Inc., Jollibee, Pryce Pharmaceuticals, Inc., and SV Manpower Services. These exhibitors will promote their products and at the same time provide free sample products to applicants.

They also invited the Maxima Technical and Skills Training Institute, Inc., a technical vocational institution, to provide free haircutting, barista services, and hilot & wellness massage.
Apart from the job opportunities, applicants will be provided with free complimentary snacks as a food station will be set up near the registration area to provide applicants free snacks while waiting for their turn to be interviewed especially those who are early and those who come from far flung municipalities.

Meanwhile, delegates from the Public Employment Service Division of Nueva Vizcaya expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to witness and immerse with the best practices and programs of Pangasinan PESO. As part of their benchmarking activity, they had an opportunity to learn the rich history and culture of the Capitol through a tour around the Capitol compound. More so, the delegates were warmly welcomed through a courtesy call with the Honorable Governor Ramon “Mon Mon” V. Guico III, Provincial Administrator Melicio F. Patague II, and Provincial Legal Officer Atty. Baby Ruth F. Torre at the Urduja House.

Reverberating the vision of making the Pangasinan the premier province with great opportunities and sustained socio-economic growth, the Pangasinan PESO continuously aims to be a model in delivering excellent and innovative programs and projects so that Pangasinenses can experience life at its best.
