PHO and Pangasinan Provincial Blood Bank conducts ‘Mobile Blood Donation’

Lingayen – In its steadfast commitment to ensure the health and well-being of its employees, the province through the Provincial Health Office (PHO) and the Pangasinan Provincial Blood Bank conducted a “Mobile Blood Donation.”

The activity formed part of the Employees Health and Wellness Day held on September 14 at the Pangasinan Training and Development Center II, here.

Anchored on the theme; “Dugo Mo, Dugtong Ng Buhay Ko,” civil servants from various offices under the Governance Sector participated as blood donors in an aim to ensure availability of blood especially during emergencies.

Some 18 blood donors passed the screening.

Said endeavor can be life saving and life sustaining for individuals who have lost blood because of accidents and natural disasters as well as those with diseases like acute anemia or with dengue patients with dangerously low platelet count and, even in cases where blood transfusion is needed.

Offices under the Governance Sector includes the Provincial Governor’s Office, Provincial Archive and Records Center, Provincial Community Development and Training Office, Management and Information Services Office, Pangasinan Provincial Jail, Human Resource Management and Development Office, Provincial Information Office, Legal Office, Pangasinan Provincial Library, Pangasinan Planning and Development Office and, the Bids and Award Committee.

A total of 241 employees have availed of the various medical/physical services to wit; medical consultation, ECG, X-Ray and vital signs like uric, cholesterol, Fasting blood sugar (FBS) and Random blood sugar (RBS).
