First Walk-In Cold Room in Pangasinan that can accommodate 14,000 vials of the Coronavirus Disease Vaccines

 

The UNICEF (United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund) has donated a walk-in cold room project to the Province. As per UNICEF, of all the sites they donated to, the Province is the fastest to install the cold room equipment after having installed the equipment in 21 days after initial communication.

The walk-in cold room installation is a testament to the efficient processes in the Provincial Government of Pangasinan.

Blessing and inauguration of the walk-in cold room at Pangasinan Provincial Hospital, San Carlos City Pangasinan last January 18, 2023. This is the 28th out of 33 sites donated by the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF).

Based on the statement by Dr. Veronica De Guzman, the DOH Provincial Health Team Leader, the walk-in cold room facility has a capacity of 7,000L that can accommodate 14,000 vials of vaccines. In addition, based on Dr. Carla Orozco, the facility is not limited to the storage of the Coronavirus disease vaccines, but it is also for the vaccines of routine immunization.
