About 8,384 Pangasinenses have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, the Provincial Health Office reported on March 24.
During a meeting held at the Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Center (NRSCC) Admin Building, the PHO underscored that the provincial government is determined in its immunization program to protect the public and reduce morbidity rates due to COVID-19.
It was noted that the Department of Health has distributed 8,384 COVID vaccines with two brands, namely: Oxford AstraZeneca and Sinovac CoronaVac.
The PHO emphasized that of the 8,384 total number of vaccines delivered, all were administered to the priority sector, to include medical frontliners in public and private health facilities in Pangasinan.
In the nine provincial government-run hospitals alone, the vaccination program served 1,548 medical personnel – 1,281 of them received Sinovac while the other 267 received AstraZeneca.
The nine provincial government-run hospitals with the number of their personnel inoculated are, as follows: Pangasinan Provincial Hospital (489), Eastern Pangasinan District Hospital (220), Western Pangasinan District Hospital (267), Bayambang District Hospital (176), Lingayen District Hospital (150), Umingan Community Hospital (95), Mapandan Community Hospital (58), Manaoag Community Hospital (43), and Dasol Community Hospital (50).
A total of 2,625 Pangasinenses were inoculated at Region 1 Medical Center while 1,976 others from various private hospitals were vaccinated, including in: Dagupan Doctor’s Villaflor Memorial Hospital (720), Pangasinan Doctors Hospital (70), Virgen Milagrosa Medical Center (60), Elguira General Hospital (85), Luzon Medical Center, Inc. (221), Blessed Family Doctors General Hospital (237), Tayug Family Hospital (191), Rosales Chua Pun Memorial Hospital (247), and Drug Treatment And Rehabilitation Center (145).
On the other hand, there are 2,235 Pangasinenses who were vaccinated from local government units, including those from different city health office and rural health units from Dagupan City Health Office, Dagupan City People’s Astrodome, Lingayen Rural Health Unit, Rural Health Unit Bani, Dasol Rural Health Unit, Infanta Rural Health Unit, Rural Health Unit Basista, Rural Health Unit I Umingan, San Carlos City Health Office, And San Fabian Birthing Home. The PHO also assured that every consumed vial of vaccine is returned to DOH for proper waste management.
The provincial government of Pangasinan through the PHO also conducted series of orientation-workshop on national and provincial vaccination plan in different LGUs and likewise, provides continuous technical assistance to hospitals and LGUs on their simulation activities and actual vaccination day.
Hence, the PHO closely monitors LGUs with active cases of COVID-19.
As of March 25 (6PM), there are 259 active cases in the province, including Dagupan City.
