The provincial board commended the recent feat of James C. Oranza who has brought honor and pride to the province after bagging medals in the 2019 Amman Asian Taekwondo Championships held in Amman Jordan on July 18-24.
Oranza, a 16-year-old taekwondo player, hails from Barangay Bayaoas in Mangatarem, Pangasinan.
The young Pangasinense, who is venturing in the world of martial arts and member of the 14-man Philippine Taekwondo National Poomsae Team, has successfully represented the Philippines after besting participating athletes from 31 countries around the globe.
In the free style mixed team category of the 2019 Amman Asian Taekwondo Championships, Oranza captured a bronze medal.
Moreover, Oranza also competed in the 14th ASEAN Taekwondo Championships held on May 4-5 at the SM Mall of Asia where he clinched a gold medal.
Authored by Sangguniang Panlalawigan members Von Mark Mendoza and Nestor D. Reyes and co-authored by all members of the provincial board, the approved Provincial Resolution No. 73-2019 states that, “the sterling performances of James C. Oranza at an early stage is an inspiration and model of the youth in the province, especially to all Pangasinenses who aspire to be taekwondo enthusiasts.”
Hence, the provincial board commended and congratulated Oranza for “amply displaying his mettle in the field of sport and wished him more success in all his future competitions.”
