The Pangasinan provincial board authorized the enrolment of the Provincial Government of Pangasinan to Electronic Premium Remittance System (EPRS) for its Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PHIC) premium contributions.
To formalize this, the provincial board passed Proposed Provincial Resolution No. 2129-2021 on February 15 during their regular physical session held at the Pangasinan Training and Development Center (PTDC) II.
The PHIC issued PhilHealth Circular No. 2020-0008 mandating all employers from the government and private sector to pay Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PHIC) Premium Contributions through the online payment facility of EPRS.
The resolution, authored by Sangguniang Panlalawigan member Angel M. Baniqued Jr., states: “The province shall enroll its EPRS account at any accredited collecting agent of its choice with payment gateway/facility interlinked with EPRS to be able to remit premium contributions online.”
“The use of EPRS online payment offers faster way of transactions and more accurate recording, prompt acknowledgment of premium payments and immediate posting of premium contributions,” the resolution also reads.
It was also noted that the Electronic Premium Remittance System EPRS is beneficial to the Provincial Government of Pangasinan on its dealings with the PHIC.
