The Pangasinan Provincial Board during the 59th regular session on March 15, approved Provincial Resolution No. 2197-2021 which authorizes the Pangasinan Provincial Government through Gov. Amado I. Espino III to enroll in the Electronic Payment System (EPS) of the Land Bank of the Philippines in pursuant to PhilHealth Circular No. 2020-0008.
In the resolution, it was stated that the authorized users/enrollees in the system will include Provincial Treasurer Marilou E. Utanes as authorizer, Supervising Administrative Officer Cristy Ubando and Administrative Aide VI Jennifer Conde as makers.
The resolution noted that pursuant to PhilHealth Resolution No. 2020-0008, employers are required to enroll their Electronic Premium Remittance System (EPRS) account at any accredited collecting agent which is the LBP, with payment gateway/facility interlinked with EPRS to be able to remit premium online.
“Provincial Government of Pangasinan recognizes the necessity of enrolling the Provincial Current Account No. 2422-1000-51 with the online payment facility of the EPRS introduced by PhilHealth as it provides faster acknowledgement of premium payments thereby providing ease, convenience and security to employers just like our local unit,” the resolution said.
Hence, it was disclosed in the resolution that the LBP is authorized to debit account mentioned upon the instruction of the provincial government.
Said resolution was authored by Sangguniang Panlalawigan Member Angel M. Baniqued, Jr. who chairs the Committee on Appropriations, Economic Affairs and Ways and Means. (/Ruby R. Bernardino)
