September 16, 2020

Governor Amado I. Espino III led the emergency meeting on September 16 with some department heads of the Provincial Government of Pangasinan and the Pangasinan Provincial Police Office about the spike of COVID-19 cases in the province.

According to the monitoring report of the Provincial Health Office, Pangasinan recorded a total of 49 new cases on September 15, 6:00 pm, the highest increase of COVID-19 confirmed cases in a day in the province since the outbreak.

During the emergency meeting, strategies and interventions to be implemented by the Provincial Government in slowing down the further spread of the coronavirus was discussed.

Governor Espino also directed the Pangasinan Provincial Police Office to impose stricter border control points.

PD Maranan also stated that more quarantine requirements will be invoked to reduce the spread of COVID-19 in Pangasinan.

Towns and cities which recorded new cases will also be under stricter monitoring.

The Police Provincial Director also urged the barangay captains and barangay enforcement teams to implement quarantine guidelines of the Inter-Agency Task Force.

Furthermore, PD Maranan reminded Pangasinenses to stay at home while those who are entering the province to postpone their trip due to the increasing COVID-19 cases in Pangasinan.
