Married male employees of the provincial government have availed of free lectures on family planning and medical examinations at the Provincial Training and Development Center on November 28.
Spearheaded by the Provincial Population, Cooperative and Livelihood Development Office, the half-day activity is one of highlights of the Population Development Week which is celebrated from November 25 to 29.
Dubbed: “Katropang Kapitolyo: The 1st Capitol Men’s Health Fair,” said activity was highlighted with lectures and counselling that centered on responsible parenthood and family planning.
As disclosed by Provincial Population Officer Ellsworth Gonzales, the activity was designed to tap the participation of married male employees being the heads of their family.
Meanwhile, Provincial Administrator Nimrod Camba disclosed that the provincial government under the leadership of Gov. Amado I. Espino III has launched various projects that redound to the benefit of not just the employees but for all Pangasinenses. Among these, he noted, are programs and projects like Kalusugan Karaban and Kalinisan Karaban.
It can be recalled that the Espino administration has implemented regular health-related activities for all provincial government workers since 2018 like physical check-ups, family day activities, friendly competitions, among many others.
In his first tenure in office, Gov. Amado I. Espino III has initiated the random-drug testing among employees so as to institute proper discipline and health values among employees and officials, as well.
An advocate of good health habits, the governor has continuously implemented sports activities among employees via Pagalaw tan Olopan ed Gobyerno Itandoro (POGI) Cup which is conducted annually.
This year’s celebration of population and development week is anchored on the theme: “Ang Pamilyang Planado, Panalo!” (Ruby R. Bernardino/ with report from Meinard Sadim)
