The Provincial Government of Pangasinan led by Governor Amado I. Espino III awarded P17.7 million worth of scholarship assistance to 1,770 Pangasinan State University (PSU) scholars.
During the last batch of scholarship awarding on October 19 at Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Center (NRSCC) Gymnasium in Lingayen for 380 scholars of PSU-Urdaneta City and PSU-Asingan, Gov. Espino congratulated the deserving scholars as he urges them to be a hero of their family and the province.
The scholarship assistance to the PSU scholars under the Provincial Scholarship Program (PSP) was institutionalized by the Provincial Ordinance No. 205, series of 2017.
“You are the qualified scholars of the provincial government pagdating sa PSU campuses natin. Mataas ang standard na nai-set since the time of former Governor Amado Espino Jr. para sa mga scholars. Ito naman po ang pinapalawig natin at dinadagdagan pa,” Gov. Espino stressed.
Board Member Nestor ‘Nikiboy’ D. Reyes urges the scholars to not let poverty hinder all their dreams, be open-minded, and keep on trying until they succeed.
Meanwhile, Board Member Nicholi Jan Louie Q. Sison, encourages the students to be a proud provincial government scholar and a proud Pangasinense.
Board Member Rosary Gracia Perez-Tababa, applauds the scholarship program as she testifies that the program will continue and help more deserving scholars in the province.
Also present during the awarding rites were Provincial Governor’s Office Chief Administrative Officer Irmina Francisco and Ms. Erlinda Fernandez, PGO consultant on scholarship program.
The awarding of scholarship assistance was held in six batches, which started on October 1 for PSU-Alaminos City and PSU-Infanta; October 8 for PSU-San Carlos City and PSU-Sta. Maria; October 11 for PSU-Bayambang and PSU-Binmaley; and October 18- PSU Lingayen.
