The Provincial Government of Pangasinan has earned another illustrious recognition after being included as among the Top 10 “Employers of the Year” in the world for the Investors in People (IIP) Awards 2020.
It can be recalled that the provincial government under the stewardship of Gov. Amado I. Espino III, has earlier acquired an accredited status from the Investors in People, Inc. which is an global accreditation body for people management that measured the performance levels of organizations notably in areas of leading, supporting and improving.
”Last September of 2019 we have applied for the accreditation of the provincial government to measure how we practice investment to our people.
Ms. Asis explained that in order to obtain accreditation, the provincial government went through a thorough process in which the first step was the employee survey followed by the second step wherein discussion of baseline data that revealed the performance level of the organization along with their recommendations to meet the indicators in order to acquire accreditation was conducted.
After the two aforesaid steps, the provincial government underwent a four-day Assessment Visit last September 10-12, 2019 wherein several employees of different employment status were interviewed by the representatives from Investors in People Philippines (IIP) led by Ms. Pinky Diokno.
Said provincial employees were interviewed and required to state their insights about people management practice of the organization.
Hence, the last step which was the Feedback Meeting was conducted on February this year and was participated in by the top management of IIP.
In the said activity, discussion of results that include the strengths and opportunities for improvements was held.
”Noong una we were selected as among the Top 20, then after ng Top 20 selection we submitted our answers to the questions that they have, then out of that nagselect uli sila ng Top 10 which was announced last Sept. 10 of this year,” the PHRMDO chief disclosed further stating that the Top 10 organizations are already considered winners since achieving such status is a significant stride for the Provincial Government of Pangasinan as it shows the organization’s brand of leadership and management which are vital in the achievement of the mission to become Number 1.
Earlier, the Provincial Government of Pangasinan is once again adjudged by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) as one of the finalists of the Search for 2020 Most Business-Friendly Local Government Unit (Provincial category)
