Labrador, Burgos & Bayambang advance to finals
Three towns earned their seats in the much-awaited finals of the 3rd Pangasinan Inter-LGU Unity Games volleyball tourney.
The volleyball teams of Labrador and Burgos will vie for the championship rounds in the Division B of the volleyball tourney while the volleyball team of Bayambang under Division A awaits for its rival for the next round.
In the semi-finals round held at the Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Center on July 25, LGU teams of Labrador and Burgos both defeated their nemesis – teams Aguilar and Infanta, respectively. Meanwhile, Bayambang won against Mangatarem.
Labrador finished the match against Aguilar after winning three sets, 3-1, while Burgos clobbered Infanta after dominating the three sets consecutively, 3-0.
Bayambang subdued Mangatarem at 3-0. The remaining seat for the championship rounds under Division A will be filled in by the winner of the knock-out match between Sta. Barbara and Alaminos City.
As such, teams of Aguilar and Infanta will vie for the knockout battle-for-third under Division A while Mangatarem looks forward for their opponent between Sta. Barbara and Alaminos City.
It can be learned that team Alaminos City who has a twice-to-beat advantage lost against Sta. Barbara during their first match. The next semi-final round between Sta. Barbara and Alaminos City is on August 1.
The Inter-LGU unity games, one of the major sports programs of Gov. Amado I. Espino III, was launched in 2017 with an objective to develop camaraderie and promote healthy lifestyle among officials and employees of the various LGUs throughout Pangasinan.
