The Provincial Government of Pangasinan led by Governor Amado I. Espino III brings anew the Capitol Sports Fest dubbed “Pagalaw tan Olupan ed Kapitolyo Itanduro.”
Kicking off this October 8, the Capitol sports fest will feature eight teams to compete for this year’s overall championship crown.
Pangasinan Sports Development and Management Council (PSDMC) Executive Director Modesto M. Operania said that the sports fest of the province aims to promote healthy lifestyle and build rapport among Capitol employees.
Forming part in the sports fest are the following events with their schedules: badminton (every Tuesday and Thursday); basketball (every Tuesday); chess (every Tuesday and Thursday); shootfest for men and women (Nov. 13); dance sports (Nov. 20); duathlon (Dec. 3); tug of war (every Tuesday and Thursday); table tennis (every Tuesday and Thursday); unity fun run (Dec. 11); and volleyball for men and women (every Thursday).
The eight teams are formed from clustered offices, departments, hospitals and agri-field stations of the provincial government, namely:
Financiers (violet color): assessor’s office, accounting office, treasury office, budget office, library, legal office, veterinary office and agriculture office.
The POGI sportsfest is a continuation of the Angguan Tan Ehersisyo (ATE) sports fest launched under the administration of his predecessor, former Pangasinan governor and congressman Amado T. Espino Jr.
