LINGAYEN, Pangasinan – Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) Family Associations reveled in a one-day fun fair organized and sponsored by the provincial government of Pangasinan through the Pangasinan Employment Services Office (PESO) on December 3.
Recognizing the sacrifices of the “modern day heroes,” Governor Amado I. Espino, III has pledged full support to the future endeavors of the OFW sector.
The provincial chief executive disclosed some of the growing entrepreneurial programs of the provincial government, such as the livelihood assistance program of the Provincial Population Office (PPO) and the Bigasang-Bayani Project of the Pangasinan PESO specifically mounted to held the OFW Family Associations in the province.
As such, expanding the said rice-retailing livelihood venture is one of the objectives of the provincial government to further enrich the source of income of Pangasinenses.
“Nalilibang na kayo, kumikita na kayo at higit sa lahat, natutulungan niyo pa ang pamilya ninyo,” Governor Espino said noting that helping Pangasinan families is the main goal of such assistance programs of the provincial government.
With this, Governor Espino called on to all members of the various OFW family associations to further foster “perseverance and sacrifice” and to keep the unity and stronger ties among their co-members to attain the shared vision and mission of Pangasinan.
To accommodate thousands of participants, fun fairs were held in each district in the province. First and second district of Pangasinan convened at the Sison Auditorium on December 3 while third district OFW families enjoyed their fun fair at the Calasiao Sports Complex, also on the same day.
Activities during the event included parlor games for all ages and raffle draws with exciting prizes.
