Thirty women from Laoac are now under a 5-day beauty care training sponsored by the Provincial Government of Pangasinan through its Mobile Skills Training Project (MSTP).
The skills training started on February 13 through a lecture-forum centered on women empowerment and violence against women and their children (VAWC) before the orientation proper.
Board Member Rosary Gracia Perez-Tababa, who led the opening ceremony in the morning, said that the skills training is a great avenue to celebrate the women’s month.
“This activity, in line with the women’s month celebration, aims to help our women… our solo parent moms and VAWC victims,” BM Tababa stressed.
The beneficiaries of this training, she added, were chosen by the social welfare department of LGU-Laoac.
As an advocate for women’s rights, BM Tababa highlighted the roles of women in nation-building.
The board member also expressed gratitude to Governor Amado I. Espino III for bringing the soft skills training to Pangasinenses in Laoac which is a big help to their livelihood.
It was noted that after the training, all completers of the beauty care training will receive beauty kits for them to start their livelihood venture at home.
Meanwhile, Laoac Mayor Ricardo D. Balderas also thanked Governor Espino for the continued support of the administration to livelihood programs and skills trainings.
“Napakalaking tulong itong programa para sa magandang kabuhayan at para makatulong sa pamilya,” Mayor Balderas said.
Urging the trainees to maximize the opportunity, Mayor Balderas said: “Ang progreso ng bansa ay nag-uumpisa sa barangay.”
