It’s all systems go for the conduct of the 31st National Statistics Month Celebration which is slated on October.
This was disclosed by Provincial Planning and Development Office Coordinator Benita Pizarro who presided the Provincial Statistics Committee (PrSC) Quarterly Meeting on September 10 virtual platform.
Pizarro stated that the province will conduct its regular activities which are handled by different PrSC member agencies as advised by the regional statistics committee.
“Tuloy na tuloy po ang mga activities natin despite the COVID-19 pandemic. Kailangan lang natin ayusin ang mga mechanics para masiguro ang kaligtasan ng lahat,” Pizarro noted as she said that the regional statistics committee has scheduled a final meeting on September 24 to thresh out plans regarding the conduct of the event.
During the meeting, the PrSC tackled the proposed calendar of activities for this year which will be finalized right after the regional committee meeting thru another virtual meeting.
Hence, the PrSC has approved two resolutions during the quarterly meeting specifically Resolution No. 01 entitled, “Resolution Extending Assistance and Full Support in the Conduct of the 2020 Census of Population and Housing by Philippine Statistics Authority and Resolution No. 02 titled, “Resolution Signifying Full Support in the Provision of Data for the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) Indicators to the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).
Various activities for this year’s celebration include the following: provincial essay writing contest for secondary, tertiary and employee categories; oratorical contest for secondary and tertiary; provincial jingle singing contest; digital artwork-making contest, virtual statistical symposium, among others.
