The Provincial Government of Pangasinan led by Governor Amado I. Espino III joins the observance of the 27th National Children’s Month this year.
As a kick-off ceremony, over 350 pupils and students from four schools in Lingayen participated in the fun walk and short program at the Capitol Plaza on November 6 administered by the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) spearheaded by Emilio P. Samson, Jr.
The PSWDO chief noted that the grand celebration of the province will be on November 27 and various activities are organized to delight the youngsters in Pangasinan.
Meanwhile, Lingayen I Central School council president Jayner D. Canilang expressed his gratitude to provincial officials and executives for upholding children’s rights and for further sustaining programs that will maintain peaceful community in the province for children.
“Sa tulong ng ating government officials sa pamumuno ni Governor Espino at sa tulong din ng ating mga guro, inaasahan po naming lahat na mga bata na kami po ay hindi niyo pababayaan at nagtitiwala po kami na ang mga karapatan ay aming matatamasa,” the young student leader disclosed.
Underscoring the objectives of the children’s month celebration, Canilang said that every child must enjoy equality in all aspects.
“As children and citizens of our country, it is our right to be loved, cared for and protected ano man ang ating lahi, kulay, kasarian, estado, relihiyon at may kapansanan man o wala,” Canilang emphasized.
The youth must put their extra effort to do well in school for better opportunities in the future, Canilang urged the youth.
Participating schools are: Lingayen 1 Central School, Pangasinan School of Arts and Trades (PSAT), Pangasinan National High School (PNHS), and Magsaysay Elementary School while representatives from Pangasinan Provincial Police also joined the activity.
This year’s celebration is anchored on the theme: “Karapatang Pambata Patuloy Pahalagahan at Tungo sa Magandang Kinabukasan.”
