The Provincial Government of Pangasinan, under the directives of Governor Amado I. Espino III, extended its help to the Province of Cagayan during the “Oplan Tulong Kapatid” held on November 20.
“Ang purpose natin ay maghatid ng tulong sa mga nasalanta ng Bagyong Ulysses sa Lalawigan ng Cagayan,” said Pangasinan Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer Emilio Samson, Jr.
PSWDO Chief Samson also added, “Pinagsamasama natin ang ating mga resources at nakalikom tayo ng mga relief goods.”
Food and non-food items given by the Provincial Government of Pangasinan include: 10,000 family food packs containing 3kg rice, 3 pcs of noodles, 2 cans of sardines per family pack 10,000 pairs of slippers, 1,000 blankets for the affected people in Cagayan.
Cagayan Province Governor Manuel Mamba personally received the relief augmentation at the Cagayan Sports Complex.
“Nagpapasalamat po ako sa Pangasinan, the people of Pangasinan, sa napakalaking tulong sa aming probinsya. Sana we could also have a chance to reciprocate this in the future,” said Cagayan Governor Mamba as he thanked the Provincial Government of Pangasinan and Gov. Espino.
Other than the donation of the Provincial Government of Pangasinan, various local government units, non-government organizations, private sectors, and individual Pangasinenses also sent their donations thru the “Oplan Tulong Kapatid”.
These LGUs include: LGU-Anda, LGU Burgos, and the 2nd District of Pangasinan led by Cong. Jumel Anthony Espino who also sent representatives to the relief mission.
Other private sectors, individuals, and NGOs which also provided food and non-food items are: JCI Lingayen Bagoong, JCI Alaminos, JCI Liberation II, JCI Binmaley, iGen Advertising Services, BSP San Carlos City, BSP Eastern Pangasinan, BSP Dagupan City, Dauntless Core Squad, Subol na Bilay, Sakey Pangasinan, NRX 2911, Crush Gaming, Blann and Arlene Coquia, and other anonymous donors.
The humanitarian team of the Provincial Government of Pangasinan left Capitol Plaza in Lingayen at exactly at 11 pm of November 19 aboard 24 vehicles going to Tuguegarao City and arrived at the Cagayan Sports Complex at 1pm of November 20.
The convoy includes: Dump trucks (14), Provincial Bus (1) 6×6 truck (3), PNP Lead car (1), Winged Van (1), Closed Van (1), Rescue Elf (1), and private vehicles (2).
The LGU-Pangasinan humanitarian team is composed of members from the Pangasinan Police Provincial Office at Armed Forces of the Philippines and selected employees of the Pangasinan Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office, Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, Provincial Engineering Office, General Services Office, and Provincial Information Office.
