The San Roque Power Corporation (SRPC) donated today, June 24, some 2,000 sets of COVID-19 virus sampling kit (nasopharyngeal and oropharyngeal swabs) for the provincial government’s Expanded Targeted Testing (mass testing) project.
Provincial Administrator Nimrod S. Camba, who represented Gov. Amado I. Espino III, expressed gratitude to the SRPC which was represented by Mr. Tom Valdez, Vice President for Corporate Social Responsibility, for extending support to the provincial government during this time of pandemic.
Provincial Health Officer Anna Ma. Teresa De Guzman, on the other hand, said that said donation will come a long way especially now that the provincial government is actively undertaking series of mass testing not only for frontline staff of the Provincial Government in Pangasinan but also for other local government units and national government agencies.
As such, Dr. De Guzman urged other private firms and organizations to work hand-in-hand with the present administration by donating other COVID-19 kits like personal protective equipment, gloves, among others, which are needed by healthcare providers or frontline workers when attending to their call of duty.
Also present during the turn-over/meeting held at the Capitol Resort Hotel were: Provincial Legal Officer Geraldine U. Baniqued, Provincial Treasurer Marilou E. Utanes, Provincial Accountant Arturo Soriano and Sanggunian Panlalawigan Secretary Verna Nava-Perez.
The donated COVID-19 kits were purchased by the SRPC from Sta. Ana Healthcare Plus Corporation which is based in San Fernando City, Pampanga.
