August 1, 2018

Lingayen, Pangasinan – Hundreds of government withholding agents from all over the province convened at the Sison Auditorium, here, on July 31 for the Withholding Tax Updates, an orientation on the salient features of the Tax Reform for Acceleration and INclusion (TRAIN) Law.

The said event, organized by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) Revenue District Office No. 04, included lectures on the following: Introduction to TRAIN Law Income Tax, Expanded Withholding Tax / Government Money Payment (including RMC 10-2018), Withholding Tax on Compensation Documentary Stamp, Stop-Filer Cases, and Electronic Filing and Payment System.

Attending the event on behalf of Governor Amado I. Espino, III, Provincial Administrator Nimrod Camba said the event is timely and significant for the government withholding agents to clarify their concerns and queries regarding the TRAIN Law.

“Taxation is the lifeblood of the nation,” in stating this, Atty. Camba underscored the importance of taxation in propelling the country’s growth and development.

Meanwhile, BIR Regional Director Clavelina Nacar resonated the call to strengthen further efforts for revenue collection.

“It is thru this way that we could help our communities grow and develop,” Nacar said, noting that national government apportions Internal Revenue Allotment to local government units and barangays thru the taxes collected and remitted to the BIR.

Also present during the event was Revenue District Officer Merlyn Vicente.
