Governor Amado “Pogi” I. Espino III kickstarted the Philippine Identification System (PHILSYS) registration for the national ID of the Provincial Government of Pangasinan Employees on August 2.
The registration is held at the Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Center (NRSCC) Gymnasium, Lingayen until August 20 from Monday to Sunday.
Provincial Statistics Officer Edgar Norberte from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) highlighted the importance of the national identification card for faster government and private sector transactions.
“Ang national ID ay upang mapabilis ang transaction natin sa gobyerno at private sectors. Kapag na-issue na ito ay ito na ang magiging permanent ID ng bawat Pilipino,” said Mr. Norberte.
Requirements for the national ID registration includes pre-filled out forms and government ID, birthday certificate or any other documents as proof of identity.
“Ang requirement natin dito ay government ID or birthday certificate na makikita ang identity ng bawat isa sa atin,” Mr. Norberte said.
The Provincial Statistics officer also urged Pangasinenses to register in their respective registration centers open in all cities and towns of Pangasinan.
At present, around 700,000 Pangasinenses have completed the Step 2 or the biometric capture of the registration.
The Philippine Statistics Authority targets to register 2.2 million Pangasinense by December 2021.
