Governor Amado ‘Pogi’ I. Espino III asked Pangasinenses to stay resilient in these trying times during the kick-off of the National Disaster Resilience Month on July 12 at the Capitol Complex.
“We are already in a ‘disaster’ for almost two years. It is really difficult because the affected were not selected, nor per barangay, per town, per province or per country but the whole world is experiencing the same problem and we only need one word: resilience,” said Gov. Espino.
The Provincial Chief Executive assured that the provincial government is doing its best in handling the pandemic for the betterment of the situation of the Pangasinenses.
Gov. Espino also thanked the Local Disaster Risk Reduction Management Officers and the uniformed personnel for their efforts and urged continuous unity and cooperation.
“In behalf of the officials of the provincial government and I also speak on behalf of all the officials in the entire Province of Pangasinan, thank you for all your sacrifices and let’s continue the unity and cooperation so we can get through the struggles that everyone is experiencing,” said Gov. Espino.
During the kick-off, Gov. Espino and PDRRM Officer Rhodyn Luchinvar Oro led the unveiling of the first issue of ‘Lingkor’ Magazine.
The Lingkor Magazine is published by the Pangasinan Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office and targets to educate Pangasinenses on disaster preparedness.
“Ang Lingkor Magazine ay magiging guide para sa mga panahon ng sakuna hindi lang ng mga empleyado ng pamahalaang panlalawigan kundi pati ng buong Pangasinan,” Gov. Espino added.
Following the launching, PDRRMO also conducted the third quarter meeting of the LDRRMOs in Sison Auditorium where Office of Civil Defense-CAR Operations Sections Chief Frankie Cortez provided a lecture on DRRM and Good Governance.
Present in the launching were representatives from the Philippine National Police, Philippine Coast Guard, Philippine Army Infantry, Philippine Navy, Bureau of Fire Protection, at Society of Pangasinan DRRMO for Excellence. Provincial Administrator Nimrod Camba, Pangasinan Social Welfare and Development Officer Emilio Samson Jr., and Provincial Information Officer Orpheus Velasco also attended the said undertaking.
