To sustain and further enhance capabilities of the Pangasinan Provincial Government into a high performing organization, all heads of office and chief of hospitals attended a Leadership Development Program conducted by the Investor in People (IiP).
Divided into two batches, the training which is conducted via Zoom application, was held on specific training dates notably on March 23-24 and March 29-30 for the first batch, and April 13-14 and April 20-21 for the second batch.
Facilitated by Mr. Gerry Plana, currently the Chief Executive Officer of IiP-Philippines, the training program aims to further enhance leadership, human resource development as well as organizational schemes of the provincial government.
“Leadership is a continuing journey of learning,” Plana said as he added that it is a work in progress that requires sharing of expertise to the rest of the team members in order to lift each other’s potentials and capabilities.
As such, Plana who is also the former president of the Personnel Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP), said that to embark on leadership journey takes full understanding of the different line of topics prepared during the leadership training. Topics discussed are as follows: 1) Focus, 2) Leadership, 3) Organization, 4) Communication, 5) Learning, 6) Planning, 7) Performance.
During the training, participants were divided into five small groups and every after topics or lessons discussed, the group members are tasked to discussed among themselves certain activities given which the group present their output afterwards.
As stated by Human Resource Management and Development Officer Janette C. Asis, the training serves as a venue where the participants can share stories or experiences and learn together as a team.
It can be recalled that the Provincial Government of Pangasinan under the stewardship of Governor Amado I. Espino III, was cited Employer of the Year among accredited companies of IiP worldwide with 250+ employees.
