Pangasinan Contractors Association through Engr. Carlito Dion has funded the construction of the Emergency Quarantine Facility of the Sta. Barbara Halfway House.
In an interview with Provincial Engineer Antonieta Delos Santos, she stated that the construction of the emergency facility is expected to be completed by next week.
The halfway house will be utilized as an additional space for persons under investigation (PUIs) who tested negative until they complete their 14-day quarantine period, Provincial Health Officer Anna Ma. Teresa De Guzman said in an earlier interview.
The Emergency Quarantine Facility is a one-story 6×24-meter building which can house up to sixteen beds.
Engr. Delos Santos also mentioned that while the estimated P600,000-project is donated by Pangasinan Contractors Association, the ventilation and other amenities will be shouldered by the Provincial Government of Pangasinan.
As of press time, the number of confirmed cases in the province remains 36 with 15 recoveries, 12 confined patients, and nine deaths.
Consequently, the patients under investigation or COVID-19 suspects reached 179 as of April 18, 9AM, with 58 confined patients, 89 recoveries, and 32 deaths.
Fifty-four of these PUIs are still waiting for their test results while 112 have already tested negative.
Of the 32 deaths, 19 tested negative, while 12 are still awaiting results and 1 has no specimen collected.
