LINGAYEN, Pangasinan – “Let us enjoy each other’s company as we foster camaraderie in showcasing discipline and marksmanship of skilled and responsible gun owners in this shootfest.”
This was said by Governor Amado I. Espino, III during the opening of the 1st Governor’s Cup Inter-LGU Shootfest (for Elected Provincial and City/Municipal Officials) 2018 held at the PNP Pangasinan Provincial Office (PPO) Firing Range on February 17.
Twenty eight participants composed of municipal chief executives, vice mayors, councilors, and provincial officials with gun licenses and permits prescribed by the Firearms and Explosives Division showcased their skills in the 9-category 5-stages, 100 rounds competition.
According to PSSUPT Ronald Lee, the two-day shootfest not only aim to encourage responsible gun ownership but also aims to foster unity and camaraderie among local chief executives including other LGU officials in the entire Pangasinan by way of practical shooting, and enhanced marksmanship skills showcased in body coordination, discipline, and enthusiasm as practical shooters.
Additionally, Lee extolled Governor Espino for his unwavering support in the development of the PPO Firing Range which undergone major overhauling and continuing improvement for all practical trainings and students.
Vice Governor Jose Ferdinand Z. Calimlim Jr, duly representing Governor Espino during the awarding ceremony, acknowledged participants for their continuous support to the programs of the provincial government stressing that public servants also need to take time to de-stress and unwind.
Calimlim bared plans of the provincial government to conduct another Governor’s Cup Inter-LGU Shootfest during the summer season to give other officials ample time to practice their shooting skills.

Bibat; DOUBLE ACTION/STRICKER FIRED Champion – San Carlos Mayor Joseres “Bogs” Resuello , 1st Runner Up – Urbiztondo Councilor Brandy M. Palisoc, 2nd Runner Up- Burgos Councilor Jester Allan B. Valenzuela; LIMITED 10 Champion – San Carlos Vice Mayor Jullier “Ayoy” Resuello, 1st Runner Up – San Nicolas Councilor Franciso C. Florentin, 2nd Runner Up – Urbiztondo Mayor Martin Raul S. Sison; UNLIMITEDChampion – Burgos Vice Mayor Ronald Ngayawan , 1st Runner Up – Laoac Councilor Junsky Alarcio, 2nd Runner Up – Mabini Mayor Alimar Briana; CARRY OPTICS Champion – San Carlos Vice Mayor Jullier “Ayoy” Resuello , 1st Runner Up – San Nicolas Councilor Mario S. The 1st Governor’s Cup Inter-LGU Shootfest 2018 is a collaboration between the provincial government and the Pangasinan Shooters’ Association (PSAI) headed by Jose Roderick “Jing” S. Javier.
Winners of the shootfest took home trophies and ₱ 10,000 cash for the champions, ₱7,000 for 1st runner up and ₱3,000 for 2nd runner up.
