Bani : San Simon under a "bani" tree

One hundred ninety three years from now, (1762) three groups of people planned the foundation of a little town called San Simon now Bani.

After several years of struggle in life characterized by rapid growth of progress and civilization, this three groups of people, be-inspired by the voice and clamor of their townmates were able to get the authorization from the central government and the town of San Simon was finally founded in Sitio Namagbagan. The three groups of people who lead the foundation of San Simon were Ilocanos, Pangasinanis, and lastly Zambaleņos.

The town Bani, is located in the center of a triangular shape bounded by Alaminos in the East, Bolinao in the North, Agno in the South, and China Sea in the West. It is nearly surrounded by rivers except in the western part.

What brought about the transfer of the town to its present location and at the same time its name from San Simon to Bani, was based from a miracle story. It is said that one town fiesta celebration the Patron Saint, the Immaculate Conception, disappeared from the alter. The people were worried about where to find their Patron Saint. After few hours they were able to find it under a big tree called "bani", which was three kilometer from the town proper. The people therefore returned it to the alter but the following morning same story happened, that is the Patron Saint was again under the bani tree. #
