u Project Description :

The project involves the development of seaport in Sual to directly serve the existing coal-fired power plant, needs of industries locating in the proposed industrial estate and the needs of other industrial/commercial activities existing in the province. Major activities include:

Ø dredging of harbor basin

Ø provision of 5,700 meters berth length

Ø reclamation of at least 432 hectares back-up area

u Status :

l A preliminary survey conducted by the Philippine Ports Authority found out that Cabalitian Bay is suitable for the development of port due to its following features:

Ø Cabalitian Bay is deep, with a minimum of 15 to 18 meters

Ø Its harbor basin provides a turning radius of 1,200 meters

Ø Back-up area could easily be made available

l With Sangguniang Bayan / Provincial Development Council / Regional Development Council Resolutions of Endorsement

l With Presidential Executive Order (EO284) Declaring and Delineating the Sual Port Zone under the Administrative Jurisdiction of the Philippine Ports Authority

l For Feasibility Study Preparation
