During the passing of the years, however, more and more people immigrated to this place and found it a good place to live in and so expanded in area and population until the inhabitants organized it into a regular municipality in the year 1878 and was christened San Felipe. The poblacion then was located in the barrio of Nañgalisan about six kilometers southeast of the present Poblacion; inhabited by the more progressive farmers who were then considered the local aristocrats and the town officials. |
